Last February the last defenses of research projects carried out by the second class of the School of Excellence IES the Cidacos Valley of Calahorra took place. This time it was the turn of the discipline of Chemistry with the following exhibitions:

1.-Víctor Fernández Zárate Robín: Crystals: crystallization conditions and lattices

2.-Ivan Castellanos Gurrea: Determination of fluorine in toothpastes

3.-Maria Calvo Blazquez: Determination of acidity in commercial vinegars

These three young researchers made us participants in their learning, mainly developed in the laboratories of the Department of Chemistry at the University of La Rioja, thanks to an agreement that this school has signed with this entity.

Tutors belong to the Department of Physics and Chemistry of IES Valle del Cidacos

As on previous occasions they asked students, in addition to the Educational Excellence, Excellence in English Linguistics, so much of his presentation was developed in this language.

Students who are enrolled in the School of Excellence in the IES Valle del Cidacos in Calahorra, just they defended their research projects to the evaluation tribunal. As required by the regulations, This event takes place in Spanish and English; also, all three applied for Linguistic Excellence in the English language, reason for which they expanded the investigation and exhibition in this language.

The works correspond to the disciplines of Technology, Technical Drawing and Design respectively and are as follows:

–Ezquerro Diego López: Mounting, 3D printer operation and applications

–Amaia madinabeitia Gomez: Fashion: symmetry and asymmetry

–Martinez Duarte Iranzu: Color psychology. Adapting the Conservatory

In compliance with the Resolution issued by the General Directorate of Education of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja in its Program of Educational Quality and Excellence in Baccalaureate of the IES Valle del Cidacos (Calahorra), Last January, the following Research Projects were defended before the evaluating court:

Sofia Garcia Gil: Cross infections at the institute. Cisterns and doorknobs as a source of infection

Ana Salvador Cordon: Online language learning

Nouhaila Mountasar: Analysis of the Guitón Honofre (1604), picaresque novel by Gregorio González

As on previous occasions they asked students, in addition to the Educational Excellence in Baccalaureate, Excellence in English Linguistics, so much of his presentation was developed in this language; student Ana Salvador, However,  he asked in French.

For the third consecutive year has launched the School of Excellence in the IES Valle del Cidacos in Calahorra. After several months of speaking classes in Spanish and English and lectures on different topics of general interest, taught by renowned specialists, students have begun to defend their research projects that they have been dealing with for two years.

These works are led by teachers acting as tutors Center of the different disciplines chosen by the students themselves, according to their interest in future college.

The first students to present and defend their research before the evaluating court have been:

• Ana Armas Herradón, He defended his projectWoman, art and sexism: life and work of Camille Claudel
• Sánchez Concha Hierro: Garbo,the spy who deceived Hiltler
• Vizan María Ruiz: Nazi women, ¿Banality of evil or innate cruelty?

In all three cases, the professor who has directed the investigations has been María Jesús Ramón Aragón, member of the Department of Geography and History of the IES Valle del Cidacos.

The exhibits were very interesting, original and fluid; also, They demonstrated the important research and pre culmination of work structuring. They were conducted in Spanish and English as required by the law of this Baccalaureate, with the proviso that, when applying the three students also Linguistic Excellence in English, They had to expand paragraphs in that language.

3.- Clara Casado Perez-Medrano: Calculating the hardness of water in different municipalities of La Rioja

4.- Herce María Martínez: Statistical study on youth Calahorra

The last day 30 January, Three new students They enrolled in the School of Excellence in Education in the IES Valle del Cidacos They defended before the court assessor their research.

First Sheila Martinez Mendizabal explained his project entitled "The Comedy Corral de Calahorra". Then he did Climbing Alberto Espiga who he developed the theme "Education in Canada", and thirdly Julio Arroyo González, "Recruitment and Calahorra cam during the Spanish War of Succession (1700-1715)”.

On Wednesday, 10 January, three of our students in the School of Educational Excellence, their research was exposed before the Court evaluator.

This time the three papers were related to the field of Biology.

Then he did Isabel Alvaro Virto his research Syndrome Hutchinson-Gildorf (Progeria).

To finish, Jorge San Miguel Agudo he raised Playing with genes in an attempt to cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
