Last year, a group of 4th year students participated in the contest Euroscola, organized by the European Parliament Office in Spain. They did it with a video of a minute and a half days in which reflected on the past, present and future of one of the sections of the Bill of Rights in Europe: “the right to the integrity of individuals”, centering the video, especially, the need and importance of regulating eugenic practices (or genetic manipulation). As a result of this work, students IES Valle del Cidacos national winners were from the Autonomous Community of La Rioja and were awarded an invitation to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg; also, They live a European Day in the House of Parliament, they and 14 comrades. At the end of last year we announced the date of visit: 7 December of 2017. Since then, They have been organizing the trip, and now live countdown to start this adventure Alsation. 4th year students of IES Valle del Cidacos traveled to Berlin to live with German students of Luise Henrietteschulegymnasium Institute 11 to the 18 September of 2017.

During the week made many and varied activities.

We arrived on Monday at noon to Berlin. Students and teachers came to wait for the airport and after greetings and initial nerves each student left with his exchange student.

On Tuesday 12 students attended the school where we started to make a tour of the memorial wall. It was a very intense moment, which he made us all think and we got a little sad to see with our eyes the cruelty that humans can. From there we went to a more lively neighborhood and then walked through the "East- Side-Gallery "with its murals as representative. We could also enjoy typical German sausage with curry sauce. We went back to school where students were with their German correspondents.

On Wednesday 13 We conducted a tour of part of Egypt's "New Museum", one of the museums found in the famous Museum Island Berlin. There we could see the bust of Nefertiti, and many other things. We strolled through the famous Unter den Linden street until you reach the Brandenburg Gate, a highly recommended tour. In addition, the teacher who accompanied us was showing us each and every one of the buildings, monuments and memorials through which we passed.

Thursday visited the dome of the "Reichstag" (National Assembly - parliament) and the Berlin Cathedral. We also had a little time to see typical shops.

Friday German and Spanish students held a picnic at school and from there we left the park that is where it was formerly Tempelhof Airport, which facilities and tracks are preserved.

The past 13 and 14 of June of 2017 students in the Bachelor of educational excellence that we are doing the research project with the Department of biology went to the Centre of research in biomedicine in La Rioja (CIBIR) to carry out activities related to the field of biomedical research.

The first day they showed us the facilities of the CIBIR, the fourth cell culture - where grow indefinitely cells that then is investigated-, and fluorescence confocal microscope and its utilities. The second day was more practical. Together we make a PCR for genotipar a mouse- This is known to have genetic information for a specific gene. The past 24 April, a group of 21 German students, coming from the Institute Kirchheim Schlossggymnsium the German town of Kirchheim, they came to Calahorra to spend a week with the students of 3the year of the Valley of the Cidacos IES.

During their stay they have shared rides, attended classes and participated in various activities inside and outside the Center, excursions to the House of the Sciences of Logroño, Land bird of prey or the Aljaceria in Zaragoza.

It has been a week of fun coexistence for all. In June will be the Cidacos Valley students who returned the visit to his country.

The past 28 April, the Rioja selection of table tennis moved to Murcia to compete in Championship of Spain of selections from this mode. The past 19 March, a group of 25 students from the IWight SLA visited the Institute IES Valley of the Cidacos. For a week they lived with the students of 1st and 2nd of ESO, they attended class as a few more students and carried out numerous activities that allowed them to know how is our community and its surroundings. Last Saturday, 25 March, students in the Bachelor of educational excellence of the IES Valle of the Cidacos They participated in two conferences to complement their training.
