PILC (Linguistic innovation centers project)

What is it?

The PILC is a project called each school year by the Ministry of education, Culture and tourism in order to promote the use of foreign languages in the classroom. The IES within its determined commitment to languages participate every year in the same with very satisfying results.

Are there methods?

They exist 2 modalities of the PILC:

• PILC A: In this mode teachers used the foreign language project object to communicate with the students in aspects related to routines, Best regards, indications, instructions, statements, etc. If the progress of the class recommend it over the course of the school year, also small parts of the curriculum are developed. To participate in this modality teachers must have a level in the CEFR B1 (Common European framework of reference).
• PILC B: In this mode the teacher taught, at least, a teaching unit of the curriculum in the foreign language subject of the project. To participate in this way teachers must have a level in the CEFR B2 (Common European framework of reference).

What is the participation of the IES in the project?

In the current course, the IES is the 2nd Center in number of participants total and 1st in number of participants of the main mode (B) all La Rioja.

Participation in the course data 2012/2013 are:

• PILC A: 8 teachers.
• PILC B: 12 teachers.
