THE MEC GRANTED AN AID OF 37.739 EURO to innovation project NubeSOL of the Department of computer science

The Ministry of education granted aid worth of 37.739 the Department of Informatics of the IES Valley of the Cidacos euros:

The winning project NubeSOL (Private cloud based on free software) is run by teachers Gaspar Pedreño and Santos sharp and will be held in collaboration with the IES cure Valera of Huércal-Overa (Almeria).

Call for aid by the Ministry of education is aimed at the realization of innovative projects with the aim of boost FP with the realization of projects of applied innovation and knowledge transfer.

The NubeSOL project was initiated in order to create a private cloud in each school to offer online services for their application in the classroom to the educational community, whose access was not limited to the educational center, looking for temporary and permanent geographical availability. The purposes of the NubeSOL project are:

• Modernize the Center's computing facilities.
• Enter Cloud Computing technologies.
• Collaborative environments for teachers and students. It will allow us to create collaborative working groups among students and teachers from the Centre and also inter-centres using the EyeOS.
• Host all services on our servers: Web page, e-Learning platforms, repositories, test benches for our students, from networks to operating systems.
• Improve our internal and external network speed, offering services to the education community both from outside and from inside the Centre.
• Incorporate the web page of the Center and virtual classroom moodle to our internal network.
• Promote the use of ICT between pupils and teachers.
• Each teacher and student may have storage space to save their work, files or what you need as if it were on your usb stick.
• Create an infrastructure that allows expand depending on the needs of the center that may arise in the future.
