Since some years, The Department of Geography and History of Valle del Cidacos Ies organizes a two-day trip to Leon for students in 2nd year. The trip is eminently historical and artistic content: we could visit emblematic monuments of Romanesque and San Martin de Frómista (Palencia) and San Isidoro de León where the magnificent Romanesque paintings are the Pantheon of Kings, the Gothic cathedral with its stained glass windows , the Contemporary Art Museum (MUSAC) and, and back, the spectacular Villa Romana de la Olmeda.
But this time we completed the trip with a visit to the University of Leon, organized by the Rector of the University. Students, grouped by specialties, had the privilege of visiting the Biology facilities, Veterinary, Economic, Sports Activities and Engineering. The dean of each faculty personally showed them the facilities and offered them valuable information about the degrees they teach.. It was a very interesting experience in view of the academic orientation of our students in a course as important for their future as this is.. We have to thank the rector and the various deans for their willingness, kindness and generosity with which they dedicated their time to us. It was one of the activities most valued by students
